Team doctor dies, Barcelona-Osasuna match postponed

The match between Barcelona and Osasuna, which was to take place tonight and is valid for the 27th week of La Liga, has been postponed.

The reason for this is the passing of Barcelona's first team doctor, Carles Minaro. He has passed away at the age of 40, while the club has not revealed any other details.

As the public was taking their seats at Montjuic and the Osasuna players had come out to warm up, Catalan president Joan Laporta went down to the locker room and informed the team's players of the death of Barça's doctor, Carles Minaaro.

The Blaugrana asked the League to postpone the match as the shock was great with the organizer giving the OK and at 9:40 PM the fans were announced over the loudspeakers that the match would not take place.

Carles Minaro had joined Barcelona's medical team since 2017 and until the summer was in charge of the futsal team, only to be promoted to the Catalans' first team this season.

"Barcelona is deeply saddened to announce the death of the first team doctor, Carles Minaro Garcia. For this reason, the match between Barcelona and Osasuna has been postponed to a later date. The Barcelona Board of Directors and all the staff send their deepest condolences to his family and friends in these difficult times," the club said in a statement. (A2 Televizion)
