The arrival of cyclists from all over the world for the "Giro d'Italia" in Albania has led the police to take all measures to stop traffic on several roads and remove all parked cars that could become an obstacle to the normal development of the cycling race.

During Thursday morning, Tirana's Traffic Police removed dozens of vehicles obstructing the race route.

Initially, the streets were "cleared" of illegally parked cars that had been on streets officially declared blocked for a long time.

"The vehicles will be removed by a lifting vehicle (cart) and taken to a dedicated area, on the old Farka road, where the owners can tow them after the race ends. The process of control and relocation will continue until the entire space of the race route is freed," the police explain.

Meanwhile, the authorities are calling on citizens and drivers to show understanding and cooperation in implementing these restrictions that will enable the race to take place under optimal safety conditions.

It is also requested to avoid incorrect parking on the roads included in the race route. (A2 Televizion)
