The Albanian Basketball Federation (ABF) announces that it has officially denounced to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) the racist chants against our country during the FIBA World Cup qualifying match between North Macedonia and Romania, in the city of Kumanovo.
"The Albanian Basketball Federation informs that following the incident that occurred during the FIBA World Cup qualifying match between North Macedonia and Romania in the city of Kumanovo, where racist chants were heard against Albania and Albanians, it has taken official steps to address this issue," reads the ASF's announcement, writes A2.
"The FSHB has sent an official letter to FIBA World, denouncing the event and requesting that clear measures be taken against any action that conflicts with the spirit of equality and respect that the sport promotes. The Federation emphasizes that basketball should be a space for cooperation, respect and dignified representation, away from hate speech and any form of discrimination," the announcement adds.
