A green anaconda was caught after eating a duck in a flooded area near a house in the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, in the interior of the Brazilian state of Acre, last Saturday.

A resident noticed the snake near his pet and immediately called the firefighters.

Although not venomous, the green anaconda is known for its muscular strength, which it uses to kill its prey, digesting it immediately after the attack. Firefighters did not give an exact estimate of the animal's length, but it is known that males of this species can reach up to three meters, while females can grow up to six meters. After being captured, it was safely transported to a wooded area.

The green anaconda is the largest snake in the Brazilian fauna. Although it does not have venom, it uses its strength to capture medium-sized prey by constriction, especially in areas near rivers and streams. (A2 Televizion)
