New York, London and Paris top the list of the most attractive cities in the world, according to the latest ranking published by the prestigious British institute Oxford Economics. The top three dominate in economy, human capital and quality of life.
The ranking analyzes five main pillars: economy, human capital, quality of life, environment and governance. These criteria are combined to determine how attractive a city is for investment, international talent and sustainable development, writes A2 CNN.
According to the report, New York stands out for its concentration of powerful industries such as finance, technology and creativity. London excels in attracting global talent, thanks to its prestigious universities, and Paris leads for its high quality of life.
The top ten also includes cities such as San Jose (Silicon Valley), Seattle, Melbourne, Sydney, Boston, Tokyo and San Francisco.
Italy has lagged behind in this ranking, Milan is the highest-ranked Italian city, in 82nd place, while Rome drops further down, in 112th place. A result that has raised concerns about the ability of Italian cities to compete globally in terms of development and innovation, reports A2 CNN.
Among European cities, London, Paris and Dublin (in 13th place) lead the list, while Nordic capitals such as Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen are praised for the quality of public administration and efficient governance. Zurich and Geneva also receive high marks in this regard.
