A 27-year-old woman, who was crowned Miss Europe-Kosovo, has tragically lost her life in Turkey after falling from a bridge while trying to escape police officers who had stopped her for a check, during which it was determined that she was driving under the influence of alcohol.

The incident occurred on April 1 as Erdogan was returning from a night out in her hometown of Giresun.

On the fateful night, Erdogan was reportedly out with friends. Upon returning home, police officers stopped her for a breathalyzer test, which revealed, according to CNN Turk, that she had 1.70 mg/100 ml of alcohol in her blood, when the limit in Turkey is 0.5 mg/100 ml.

According to Turkish reports, Erdogan, fearing trouble with the law, abandoned her car and ran towards a bridge. There, she reportedly lost her balance and fell from a height of about 15 meters onto a six-lane highway.

Turkish media reports that after falling from the bridge, she was hit by a passing car. Despite the efforts of rescue teams who rushed to the area, the 27-year-old was unable to survive.

Her family, however, claims that it was all an accident.

"Do not believe the news and false information about the death of our beloved daughter, sister and friend Guler Erdogan. Our sister lost her life due to an accident," a statement on the 27-year-old's Facebook page said. (A2 Televizion)
