Admitted to the Military Hospital, how is Vučić's condition?

The health condition of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is stable and satisfactory, following checks carried out at the military hospital in Belgrade, said Dragan Dinčić, a cardiologist at the hospital.

Vučić, as confirmed by Dinčić, fell ill during his visit to the United States and immediately sought medical attention. After a health check-up, he decided to return to Serbia.

"In the coming days, it is unrealistic to expect that the president will be able to return to his regular activities," Dinčić added.

Dinčić, who is also the head of the Military Health Administration at the Serbian Ministry of Defense, said that Vučić will leave the military hospital during the day, after undergoing checks and tests.

He added that he could not speak in detail about his health condition, but Vucic had experienced chest pains, accompanied by high blood pressure, during his visit to the US.

Vucic, he said, has received additional therapy and was examined by a team of doctors in the US who diagnosed him with high blood pressure.

"Doctors in America performed all the checks and the president, contrary to their recommendation, decided to return to Serbia," Dinčić said.

He said that Vucic had not had any problems during his trip to Serbia and when he arrived at the military hospital in Belgrade, he was feeling well.

During his stay in the US, Vučić met with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

He was scheduled to meet with several senior Republican Party officials before cutting short his visit to the US due to deteriorating health, according to Serbian media.

US President's Special Envoy for Special Missions, Richard Grenell, wished Vucic a speedy recovery, after the Serbian leader abruptly cut short his visit.

In a post on X, Grenell also expressed regret that he was unable to meet with the Serbian leader.

Vučić's visit to the US took place a few days before he is scheduled to attend Victory Day in Moscow on May 9. His visit to Russia has been criticized by the European Union.

Serbia, which has good relations with Russia, has so far not imposed sanctions on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.

The European Union has repeatedly called on Serbia, a country aiming to join the bloc, to harmonize its foreign policy with that of Brussels. (A2 Televizion)
