Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic is not considering opposing the UAE investment project on Ulcinj's main beach. He announced that his goal is to reach an agreement with parliamentary groups in order to pass it to the parliament for approval.

He made this statement during a press conference in Podgorica with the European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, who also commented on the project that has angered Albanians in Montenegro.

"We have started consultations with parliamentary groups. Based on the initial reactions, I would say that we can also count on the support of part of the opposition. It is very important that a project like this is supported by as many MPs as possible, because this is something we need to have a consensus on and not fight politically. Cooperation with the United Arab Emirates is in line with EU partners and the United Arab Emirates has such agreements with several EU members. Such investments have also been made in Albania. In addition to the Emirates, we are also preparing very important interstate agreements with three EU member states, which will enable us to make large investments, build infrastructure and many other projects that may not have been in focus so far," said Prime Minister Milojko Spajic.

"I think that the economic development of Montenegro is undoubtedly in the interest of the European Union. We are also interested in diversifying the economic portfolio. Of course, what is important is that all laws and obligations undertaken by Montenegro are respected and that European companies have the same rights when it comes to investments in Montenegro. This is because European companies are really interested in investing in Montenegro in general," said Kaja Kallas. (A2 Televizion)
