North Macedonia is heading towards early parliamentary elections. There is still no date, but in Skopje there is a lot of talk about a resignation of Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski until January 26, to leave room for the formation of a technical cabinet with an Albanian prime minister, for the first time in history.
The chairman of the assembly, Talat Xhaferi, based on media reports, said that there is a lot of talk about May 8. If this is officially confirmed, the Speaker says that Kovacevski must resign 70 days before, that is, in January. However, VMRO-DPMNE in the opposition has rejected the formation of a technical government with an Albanian prime minister. This political force was answered by the first deputy prime minister, Artan Grubi, from the ranks of DUI, who announced that history will be written.
"There will be an Albanian Prime Minister, the taboo must be broken and we must prove that we are a society for everyone, that we are all part of a democratic country. We know who will be the first prime minister, but he will be announced by the mayor, Ali Ahmeti", Artan Grubi, first deputy prime minister of RMV.
So, pre-election preparations continue. Several Albanian parties of the opposition in North Macedonia will sign the union in the "European Union for Change" coalition. Meanwhile, VMRO-DPMNE is moving towards cooperation with the left, which prompted this reaction of the ruling SDSM.
"The left is a pro-Russian, anti-NATO and anti-EU party that worships dictators like Enver Hoxha. The radical right, in love with the regime just like DPMNE. These are the anti-European values of the coalition DPMNE and the Left, of Mickoski and Apasiev", said Bogdanka Kuzeska, spokeswoman for SDSM.
