According to preliminary information from the prosecution, the cause of the fire that broke out at the disco club in Kocani was fireworks. This was announced by the public prosecutor of North Macedonia, Ljubco Kocevski, after preliminary investigations carried out at the club. Kocevski did not provide further details regarding the case, explaining that the investigation at the scene is still ongoing.
"The causes will be determined at this time, for now we can only say that actions are being taken based on the causes of the fire. These are the first information, but at the moment we cannot say anything considering that investigations are being conducted at the scene," said Ljubco Kocevski.
Local media reports that the prosecutor said that work is underway to issue arrest warrants for the people possibly responsible for causing the fire. Prosecutor Kocevski added that within a few hours, the people against whom an arrest warrant will be issued will be known.
"At the moment, orders are still being issued both in terms of conducting expertise and in taking actions and collecting evidence. At the moment, we cannot tell you anything because this is part of the public prosecutors. The prosecution currently does not have such information as how many people were involved, what the capacity was, etc. As soon as the investigation is completed and the necessary orders are issued, the people who could be potential defendants, etc. will testify," added Ljubco Kocevski.
