The number of victims of the fire that broke out at a nightclub in Kočani, North Macedonia, has risen to 51. The news was announced by Interior Minister Pance Toshkovski, who gave details of the terrible tragedy in Kočani, reports A2 CNN.
According to Toshovski, over 100 others have been injured so far. He said that according to initial information, the fire was caused by sparks that then ignited the ceiling, which was made of easily flammable material, writes A2 CNN.
The minister stated that several people have been arrested so far, including the discotheque owner.
Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia has formed a team of prosecutors that will lead the investigative actions in Kocani. The prosecutors, together with other competent services, are on the ground. The team of prosecutors consists of prosecutors from Skopje, Shtip and Kocani, the prosecutor's office announced regarding the tragedy in Kocani where 51 people died and over 100 were injured.
