Japan was hit by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake on Monday, and local authorities issued a tsunami warning, A2 CNN reports.
The tremors were felt on the southwest coast of the country. The earthquake struck at 9:19 local time. Because of it, a tsunami alert was issued in Miyazaki province, Kyushu island and southern Kochi prefecture.
Authorities advised local residents not to enter the water or approach the shore until further notice, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported on the X social network. (A2 Televizion)
