A shocking incident occurred this Thursday, April 24, at the Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides high school in the city of Nantes, France. A 15-year-old student, who is in his second year at the school, entered the school premises with a knife and attacked four of his peers, writes A2 CNN.
According to sources close to the investigation, the young man first went up to the second floor of the building and stabbed a girl with a knife. He then went down to the floors below and entered two different classrooms, where he injured three other students. Unfortunately, one of the victims died as a result of his injuries. Of the other three injured, one is in critical condition, one in stable condition and another has minor injuries, reports BFMTV.
The incident caused panic among students and teaching staff. Teachers reacted quickly and managed to neutralize the aggressor before the police arrived. The young man was unknown to the authorities, as he had never had any problems with the law or security services.
French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau is expected to visit the scene this afternoon, while authorities have launched investigations to clarify the motives for this serious act.
