British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, after a summit with European leaders, said that Great Britain, France and other countries will draw up a plan to stop the fighting in Ukraine, which will be presented to the United States.
Starmer said the aim of Sunday's meeting was to bring European allies together to address this important issue. "The first thing must be to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position now. Any deal must be backed by strength."
Starmer stressed that "every nation must contribute in the best way possible, bringing different skills and support to the table, while everyone must take responsibility for action and step up their share of the burden," writes A2.
Starmer announced several important points that were agreed during the meeting:
1. Continue the flow of military aid and increase economic pressure on Russia to strengthen Ukraine.
2. Any lasting peace must ensure Ukraine’s sovereignty and security, and Ukraine must be part of the table.
3. In the event of a peace agreement, Ukraine’s defense capabilities will continue to be built up to prevent any future invasion.
4. A coalition of the willing will be developed to protect an agreement in Ukraine and guarantee peace.
