Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, in a live broadcast on "Off the Record" with Andrea Dangli, on A2 CNN, stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should apologize to his counterpart Donald Trump, following the debate they had at the White House.
"Zelensky made a mistake in the White House and should do his best to repair relations with President Donald Trump. I am not a big supporter of Zelensky, but he will be President of Ukraine until the end of the war because elections cannot be held in this situation," said Goncharenko.
He further emphasized that American assistance is necessary for Ukraine, as European support is not sufficient.
"Europe alone cannot give us what we need. Russian tanks are not destroyed with statements or posts on social networks. We need concrete support. We are not happy with the change in the US approach regarding support, but this is the situation we are in now. We are ready for peace and I think Trump can achieve peace, but we cannot cross the red lines, which are the sovereignty of Ukraine, the type of its army and the guarantee that Russia will not attack us again. It is not only Ukraine, as we are already defending Europe. In 1994 we had the third largest nuclear arsenal in the world and we were asked by the US and the UK to remove it, as they guaranteed us that we would not need it.
