The Israeli Defense Forces raise the Israeli flag at the Hamas "parliament" in Gaza

Hamas is losing more and more ground in the Gaza Strip as the Israeli army marches into the city, destroying the Palestinian Islamist organization's bases and structures.

Shortly before Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallad declared that Hamas had "lost control of Gaza," IDF soldiers, according to local media, seized the so-called "Hamas parliament" in Gaza City and raised the Israeli flag.

Hamas has "lost control of Gaza" and militants "are fleeing south", Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallad has claimed, as the war with the group enters its fifth week.

Civilians are "looting Hamas' bases" and "no longer trust the government" that controls the Palestinian enclave that is being continuously hit by Israel, the minister assured in a video message broadcast by several television channels.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier told a battalion of Israeli army forces that today's war in Gaza will be a "war to the end" and not another round of fighting.

Netanyahu met with soldiers belonging to the Israel Defense Forces' Caracal infantry battalion near the Gaza border and told them that if they do not end Hamas, they will return. 

The Israeli prime minister praised the actions of the soldiers in the massacre of Hamas on October 7, saying: “What you did here, you decided the direction of the battle, was a remarkable achievement, really great. To turn the battle from the worst possible situation means a lot." (A2 Televizion)
