Israel has agreed on the terms necessary to finalize a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. It is the US President who makes such an announcement. Through a post on “Social Truth”, the head of the White House said that during the proposed ceasefire the United States will work with all parties to end the war.

"Qatar and Egypt, who have worked very hard to bring peace, will present this final proposal. I hope Hamas accepts the deal because it will not get better, it will only get worse," Trump said, A2 writes.

Israel has not confirmed its acceptance of the terms of the agreement, while Hamas said through a representative that the group is ready and serious about reaching an agreement. But it stressed that it will accept any initiative that leads to a complete end to the war.

The development comes ahead of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scheduled for next week, where the US president has said he will be very firm. A day earlier, Trump said he believed Netanyahu wanted to end the fighting in Gaza.

Also, the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, told the BBC that his country was absolutely ready for a ceasefire. According to him, Hamas was playing hardball and if it did not sit down at the negotiating table, the only option to return the hostages was increased military pressure.

The Israeli ambassador met on Tuesday with US special envoy Steve Wittkof, Secretary of State Rubio and Vice President JD Vance, amid growing pressure from Trump to persuade Netanyahu to accept the ceasefire.

Israel has said the conflict can end on its own when Hamas is completely destroyed, while the militia that runs Gaza has called for a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of Israeli troops. (A2 Televizion)
