India attacks Pakistan with missiles

Tensions between India and Pakistan have flared up again after a series of missile attacks carried out by the Indian army on Pakistani territory. According to the Pakistani army, three cities were hit: Kotli, Bahawalpur and Muzaffarabad. The news was confirmed by General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry to the Pakistani media "ARY News", while the Indian side stated that it had launched "Operation Sindoor" to destroy suspected terrorist bases.

The Indian Defense Ministry said its actions were "precise and mature," adding that no Pakistani military installations were targeted and that the strikes followed an April 22 attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people - mostly tourists. India blames Pakistan-linked militants for the attack.

Pakistan confirms three dead and 12 wounded, including civilians. In Bahawalpur, a rocket hit a mosque, while explosions and a total power outage were reported in Muzaffarabad. Both cities are in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir, while Bahawalpur is in Punjab province.

In response, Pakistani jets immediately took to the air, while authorities stressed that the missiles were launched from Indian airspace, without entering Pakistani airspace. General Chaudhry warned that "the attacks will not go unanswered" and that Pakistan will respond "at a time and place of its own choosing." (A2 Televizion)
