At least 13 people were reported killed in airstrikes across Gaza overnight, after Israel said it was resuming combat operations in the Palestinian territory.
According to foreign media, two civilians were killed and five others were injured when an Israeli drone hit a tent near the al-Mawasi humanitarian zone, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reports, citing Red Crescent doctors.
The Israeli military said it had targeted what it called a Hamas military location, from where the group was preparing to fire into Israel. Hamas-controlled ships were also hit, the military said.
The move comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said fighting would resume "with full force", adding: "This is just the beginning."
The bombing is not on the same scale as Tuesday, when the Hamas-run Health Ministry said more than 400 people were killed, A2 CNN writes.
Tom Fletcher, the UN under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief, said of Tuesday's attacks that "the intensity of the killings is now incredibly high."
Wafa says a woman and a child were killed in an airstrike north of Khan Younis on Wednesday night, while four others were killed in an attack in Gaza City.
Gaza's Health Ministry has not yet given a death toll for the latest attacks, writes A2 CNN.
Tuesday's attacks constituted the heaviest bombing since a fragile ceasefire and hostage-swap deal took effect on January 19 and came after Israel and Hamas failed to agree on how to move it beyond an initial phase. (A2 Televizion)
