Drone war, Russia attacks Ukraine fiercely, explosions and casualties

Ukraine has endured a difficult time. Russia launched a fierce drone attack, killing four people and wounding 21 others in the city of Dnipro. Local authorities confirmed this, explaining that a restaurant complex and several residential buildings were targeted, which were engulfed in flames.

"The enemy launched more than 20 drones into the city," officials said, noting that most of them were shot down. Images from Dnipro showed firefighters battling flames in buildings, broken windows and debris on the city's streets. During the night, sirens continued to wail in other regions of Ukraine, including the capital Kiev. The Russian Defense Ministry said three Ukrainian drones had been shot down in the Belgorod border region.

In his video address to the citizens, President Volodymyr Zelensky again accused Moscow of targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure, in violation of a partial ceasefire agreed earlier this month in peace talks that also included the United States.

Russia has also repeatedly accused Kiev of attacks on the energy sector. President Vladimir Putin suggested this week that Ukraine be placed under United Nations supervision to organize elections, which he claimed would bring in a more competent government.

It is seen as the Kremlin's latest attempt to challenge the legitimacy of Kiev's cabinet, a move widely condemned by Zelensky's allies. Ukraine accuses Putin of proposing crazy ideas to push forward with a major ceasefire brokered by US President Donald Trump. Washington recently announced a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
