US Vice President JD Vance visited Greenland today, where he held meetings at the US air base located there.
According to foreign media, Vance was asked about President Donald Trump's statements that the US could use military force to take control of Greenland if necessary.
Vance, in his response, apparently wanted to minimize the potential for such a development but refused to rule it out.
"The president has made it clear that he doesn't think military force will be necessary, but he absolutely believes that Greenland is an important part of the security, not only of the United States, but of the world and of course, of the people of Greenland," he says, writes A2 CNN.
Asked if plans have been drawn up to use military force to take control of Greenland, he says the White House has planned to wait for the territory's people to vote for self-determination before acting.
"Well, what the President has said is that we should have more of a position in Greenland," he says, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
