"I feel sorry for Ukraine," Bolton: Trump only wants to end the war,

For the President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, the war in Ukraine is of no interest, it is enough that it be ended as soon as possible.

This was stated by former US National Security Advisor and Trump's right-hand man during his first presidency, John Bolton, in an interview with the French media outlet, France 24.

"The US president-elect wants the Ukraine war off the table; he wants the Middle East war off the table. He doesn't care how the wars end, as long as he doesn't have to worry about them. And I think that's very bad news for Ukraine. I'm very concerned about the direction Trump is going to take," Bolton said, according to A2 CNN.

He added that Russia may be interested in reaching an agreement on a ceasefire and defining the border line based on the current situation on the front. “The longer the ceasefire lasts, the greater the possibility that this line will become the new border between Ukraine and Russia,” the former Trump adviser said.

Trump previously expressed his desire to discuss the Ukrainian crisis with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The special envoy for Ukraine in the administration of the US leader-elect, Keith Kellogg, said he would like to meet the 100-day deadline for resolving the conflict.

Asked about his biggest concern about Trump's second term, Bolton said he believes "the issue that's not getting enough attention internationally is the issue of tariffs." He explained: Trump "hopes to raise significant revenue from higher tariffs. And every indication is that the European Union, China, Canada, Mexico, which are our two largest trading partners, are going to retaliate." (A2 Televizion)
