US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation today, where they discussed the conflict in Ukraine and a possible solution to it.
According to foreign media, the two leaders focused on implementing the agreements reached by Moscow and Kiev during direct talks in Istanbul in recent months.
It is learned that Putin stated during the conversation that Moscow will continue to seek a diplomatic solution to the ongoing conflict, but will not leave its root causes unaddressed.
Meanwhile, Trump on the other hand called on the Russian president to cease hostilities as soon as possible, according to presidential aide Yury Ushakov, writes A2 CNN.
However, the two presidents did not discuss a possible meeting, aide Ushakov said.
