Iran has not delayed its retaliation against Israel. The Revolutionary Guard announced that it had launched a missile attack this evening against dozens of targets in Israel.
The Israeli military has announced that Iran has launched at least 100 rockets towards their country, but they clarify that the "Iron Dome" defense system is in operation and call on the people to stay in shelters.
Two waves of rockets were fired from Iran, with loud explosions recorded in Tel Aviv, where some minor injuries were reported, and also in Jerusalem.
Tehran's response comes after the Israeli air force launched a series of attacks on Iran, with violent explosions in Tehran and Tabriz, where according to the IDF more than 200 targets were hit.
" Our revenge has just begun, they will pay a high price for the killings of our commanders, scientists and civilians. There will be no security anywhere in Israel, our revenge will be painful ," a senior official in Tehran told Reuters.
Iran also claims that Revolutionary Guard forces shot down two Israeli jets and captured a pilot on its territory.
According to the Irna agency, two Israeli warplanes were shot down, but it was not specified in which area this occurred.
Operation "Rising Lion", launched by Israel, targeted Iran's military and political leaders.
Tehran confirms the death ( possibly in a quick Mossad strike ) of Revolutionary Guards chief Hossein Salami. Powerful General Mohammad Bagheri was also killed, while two scientists from Tehran's nuclear program ended up dead. (A2 Televizion)
