An incident occurred between former Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi and Quarta Repubblica journalist Lavinia Orefici.
According to foreign media, on Saturday, the journalist asked the former President of the European Commission for a comment on a passage in the Ventotene Manifesto for European unification, regarding private property.
Prodi appeared annoyed by the question and in a video later published by Giovanni Floris on DiMartedì, on La7, the former prime minister is seen pulling the journalist's hair.
Lavinia Orefici said she felt humiliated as a journalist and as a woman by the inappropriate gesture that went viral, writes A2 CNN.
"President Prodi, in addition to responding in an aggressive and intimidating tone, grabbed a lock of my hair and pulled it. It was shocking for me," she declared.
Prodi himself stated that the contact was accidental and without any offensive intent. This video has caused debate in the neighboring country, where Prodi's action has been widely criticized. (A2 Televizion)
