"They are not dignified and wise", Khamenei: There should be no

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ruled out the possibility of negotiations with the administration of US President Donald Trump, citing past experiences and vowing to respond forcefully to any threat.

“There should be no negotiations with such a government, as it is neither wise, nor prudent, nor dignified,” Khamenei told Iranian military forces on Friday. He was referring to the 2015 nuclear deal, which Trump withdrew from in 2018 before imposing tough sanctions on Iran.

"If they threaten us, we will threaten them. If they act on their threats, we will act on our threats," Khamenei warned, A2 writes.

"If they violate the security of our nation, we will violate their security. This is our duty, as Islam demands," Khamenei added. The statement comes the week Trump signed an executive order to return to the "maximum pressure" sanctions policy of his first term on Iran, but also called for Tehran and Washington to reach a "verified nuclear deal."
