Russia will escalate its war in Ukraine and trigger a global conflict if it is not stopped soon, Volodymyr Zekenskyy has warned.
According to foreign media, the President of Ukraine was speaking to the American newspaper CBS before Russia's devastating attack on Sumy, which killed 34 people yesterday.
"If we don't stand firm, he will advance further," Zelenskyy said, writes A2 CNN.
"These are not just idle speculations; the threat is real. Putin's ultimate goal is to revive the Russian empire and reclaim territories currently under NATO protection. Taking all this into account, I believe it could escalate into a world war," Zelensky further said, writes A2 CNN.

Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump's special envoy, has sought to keep diplomatic channels open with Russia, claiming last month that Putin "wants peace."
