A violent clash between several suspected criminals has left at least 12 dead in the city of Texcaltitlan, central Mexico.
The data was disclosed to security officials in the country on Friday. Eight of the victims are suspected to have been linked to criminal activities.

The Ministry of Security for the State of Mexico also announced that as a result of the clashes, three residents of the area lost their lives.
A video distributed online by the country's media showed the moment when a group of men started to collide with each other, and then shots and people running to escape the bullets are heard.
Over 420,000 murders have been officially registered in Mexico since the launch of the so-called "war on drugs" in 2006, with the deployment of armed forces inside the country to crack down on the cartels. (A2 Televizion)
