Chilling images recorded by the bedroom camera of a 39-year-old mother shortly before she was killed by her 13-year-old son have been released by the Miami-Dade County District Attorney's Office in Florida.
The shocking material published by the American media includes footage recorded by the baby monitor in Irina Gasia's room on the evening of October 12. The 39-year-old woman had given birth 14 days ago to a daughter, who also appears in the footage of the fatal night, as his bed was next to the mother's bed.
In one of the photos, taken at 10:23 p.m. that night, Garcia appears in her bed with her newborn daughter in her arms. Just 40 minutes later, at 11 p.m., the baby monitor camera recorded the room with the lights off.
The baby is in her crib, and over the sleeping woman stands her son, Derek Rosa, who half an hour later would call 911 to confess that he had taken his mother's life.
Prosecutors who released the material have not yet released details of its contents, but it also includes a shocking selfie the 13-year-old is believed to have sent to a friend after committing the brutal crime.
