Europe and Poland should be prepared for a possible major conflict with Russia as early as 2027. The alarm has been raised by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. His government will make the most of the next two years to stabilize the situation in Poland and ensure security. Tusk announced this at a town hall meeting in the town of Pabianice near Lodz, as reported by the German media Die Welt.
The Polish prime minister cited a similar assessment by NATO's new Supreme Allied Commander, Alexus Grynkevich, with whom he had spoken a short while earlier. According to this assessment, Russia and China could become so strong by 2027 that they would require a coordinated confrontation with NATO and the United States, writes A2 CNN.
In light of Russia's war against Ukraine, Western military experts are circulating different estimates of when aggression could be directed against other states in Europe. 2027 is the shortest timeframe mentioned so far. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) predicts 2029. EU states are rearming and want to be able to repel a Russian attack by 2030.
Russia is also expanding its armed forces. However, Moscow's leadership calls the suggestion that NATO territory should be attacked nonsense. The Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda recently overturned this narrative and suggested that NATO intends to attack Russia in 2027. (A2 Televizion)
