Trump: First the peace agreement, then the agreement on the security force in

United States President Donald Trump has said he wants a deal with Ukraine before agreeing on a peacekeeping force.

According to foreign media, Trump told reporters during a meeting with British Prime Minister Sir Kei Starmer that "we have made good progress on a peace agreement," adding that "good talks" had been held with Russia and Ukraine, adding that Russia had acted "very well."

He also said a deal must be reached before there are peacekeeping forces in Ukraine, after Starmer said earlier this month he was ready to deploy British troops on the ground in Ukraine if a peace deal is reached.

"Putting security forces in Ukraine is the easy part, the deal is the hard part," Trump added, writes A2 CNN.

Regarding the rare earth minerals deal to be signed tomorrow with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump says the deal will be a setback for Ukraine.

Ahead of his meeting with the US president today, Starmer said that only US support can ensure lasting peace in Ukraine. (A2 Televizion)
