US President-elect Donald Trump told a news conference from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy should be prepared to make a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin. to end the nearly three-year war in Ukraine.
Also, Trump asked Putin to reach an agreement, as according to him, many people are being killed.
"He must be prepared to make a deal. That's all. It should be a deal. Many people are being killed. This is a fight that many people have - we need to make a deal. And Putin also has to make a deal. Putin has to make a deal, and Putin would never have come in if I were president," said Donald Trump, US President-elect.
Trump tried to avoid a direct answer when asked if Ukraine should cede territory to Russia in order to achieve peace.
"I will let you know this after I have my meeting with Zelenskyy and Putin. But a large part of that territory, they have nothing left, there are cities where there is not a building standing. It is a place of ruin. There is not a building standing. So people cannot return to those cities. There is nothing there. It's just rubble," Trump said.
Trump reiterated that the West should not allow Ukraine to attack Russia with missiles with a range of up to 200 miles inside Russian territory.
"I think we will be in a good place in the Middle East. I think the Middle East, we're going to be in a good place. I think that the Russia-Ukraine situation will actually be more difficult. I see it as more difficult. I don't think they should have allowed the missiles to be fired 200 miles into Russia. I think that was a bad thing and brought Koreans to North Korea. Another man I get along with very well. I'm the only one who does. But it did a lot of bad things," Trump said.
Trump has pledged to end the war between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours of taking office. (A2 Televizion)
