French President Emmanuel Macron is making a historic three-day visit to the United Kingdom, the first by a leader from Paris in over a decade. Accompanied by his wife, Bridget, the presidential couple were welcomed with royal honours by Prince William and Princess Catherine.
Macron will deliver a speech to the British parliament, while also meeting with King Charles III, in an effort to further deepen relations between the two countries.
The French leader will hold several meetings with the local Prime Minister, Keir Starmes, who has pledged to reformat relations with European countries after taking power in 2024, several years after the Brexit divorce.
Their discussions are expected to focus on Ukraine, which is resisting a war of invasion by Russia, increasing defense spending, as well as joint efforts to stop illegal migrant boat crossings in the English Channel. (A2 Televizion)
