Tunnels are discovered under the hospital, Netanyahu admits: We cannot avoid

This, according to the Israeli military, is the entrance to an underground tunnel, in the outer area of the Al Shifa hospital complex in Gaza. Defense forces release a video they claim shows the underground passage used by Hamas militants under the largest health center in the enclave.

The footage, with which Israel tries to justify the military operation in the hospital where thousands of patients and displaced Palestinians are trapped, has not been independently verified. The army also announced that it had also found a vehicle with a large number of ammunition.

The director of the Al-Shifa hospital says that hundreds of patients who are still in the facility are screaming with thirst, as the oxygen and water reserves have been exhausted.

There is no safe place in Gaza anymore and after calls for evacuation from the north citizens in the south were warned to leave 4 villages in Khan Yunis.

The UN warns that civilians are at risk of starvation. So Israel announced that it had found the bodies of two hostages near Al Shifa, Yehudi Weiss, a 65-year-old cancer patient, and Noa Marciano, a member of the defense forces.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told CBS television that US intelligence suggested many of the hostages were being held at the hospital but had been moved as the IDF learned of the structure.

For the first time, Netanyahu admitted that his efforts to minimize casualties have not succeeded. Parallel to the military operation in Gaza, tensions are also high in the West Bank where 3 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone attack on the Jenin refugee camp.

Tel Aviv said it had also executed three gunmen who had opened fire at a checkpoint near Jerusalem.  (A2 Televizion)
