The government is proud of the work and commitment of the institutions of the Republic in transitional justice and addressing the crimes committed during the last war in Kosovo. In a conference of the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, and the Minister of Culture, Hajrulla Çeku, it was said that tangible results have been achieved in addressing crimes, starting with the establishment of the Institute that is documenting these crimes.

"There are already 67 indictments filed in 62 cases against 174 persons, of which 10 cases are being tried in absentia and it is expected that this number will continue to increase. Bearing in mind that Serbia does not hand over war criminals, nor those terrorists who commit crimes and terrorist attacks in peacetime, it was extremely important to address the trial in absentia for war crimes", stated Haxhiu, writes A2.

Kosovo already has the report for intentional damage to cultural heritage during the period 1998-99.

Hajrulla Çeku emphasized: "Serbia has destroyed nearly 1,800 monuments of Kosovo's cultural heritage, robbed more than 3,700 artifacts, museum objects from the public museum collection of Kosovo, robbed the official documentation of monuments with hundreds of thousands of files and other "files" part of these files, destroyed 175 public libraries and about 1.7 million Albanian books, as well as damaged, destroyed or robbed hundreds of works of art".

Minister Haxhiu was again asked about the genocide lawsuit against Serbia, a promise of the Vetëvendosje Movement when it came to power. Although she said that the whole process is confidential, she said that soon there will be concrete actions that will be made public: "It is on our agenda, we are working with experts on the issue, foreign and local, and we believe for a while not in the long run we will have concrete actions in terms of addressing the responsibilities we have in this direction".

In this conference, the commitments in the restoration of memorial complexes throughout the country were also mentioned.
