Special Court bans Hashim Thaçi from attending his father's funeral

The March 13 meeting at the UCCK premises in Pristina, where they spent three hours in each other's presence, will be the last for Hashim Thaçi, with his late father, Haxhi Thaçi.

The Kosovo Special Court in The Hague will not allow the former President of Kosovo to say his last goodbye to his father, prohibiting him from attending the funeral ceremony.

The news was announced by the Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK) through a post on Facebook, where they also express indignation and revolt against this decision.

OVL-UCK describes this decision against Thaçi as unjust and inhumane, which contradicts the universal values of humanity and justice.

"This decision is not only a flagrant violation of fundamental human rights, but also an act that violates dignity and the deepest human feelings," the OVL UÇK response states.

The veterans' organization also considered this decision a deliberate attempt to humiliate not only Thaçi and his family, but also former KLA fighters.

"The Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization will not tolerate the silence of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo towards the violations and contemptuous treatment being meted out to our fellow fighters by the Special Court in The Hague," the reaction further states.

The funeral ceremony of Haxhi Thaçi will take place tomorrow at 3:00 PM, while the family has opened its doors to all those who want to go to offer condolences, at Burojë in Skenderaj.

Since the early hours of the morning, many family members, former associates of Thaçi in politics, and citizens have offered condolences to the former President's family. (A2 Televizion)
