Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the security agencies continue to be vigilant after the attack on the Ibër Lepenci channel in Zubin Potok and removing additional security measures is not an option now.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Kurti said that the destructiveness of Serbia has been increasing and the new reality in the north, according to him, has made him nervous.

"Our security agencies, our intelligence are following very closely any information that may tell us anything about their next attacks, but I know one thing that those attacks can no longer be planned in Kosovo, they cannot initiated inside Kosovo. They are attacks that always come from Serbia and are organized there."

Stopping the dialogue between the two countries, Kurti said that now it is the turn of the European Union and the new foreign policy representative Kaja Kallas for the initiatives for the way forward.

According to him, it is not expected from Belgrade to become cooperative without the intervention of the mediator, and he emphasized that the basic agreement and the annex should be fully implemented and not focused on the Association.

"I do not believe that the Association is or should be at the center of Kosovo-Serbia relations, it is mutual recognition. We cannot talk about the Association of Serb-majority municipalities abandoning mutual recognition. So at the heart of the basic agreement is at least defacto mutual recognition."

Kurti declared that the West should sanction Serbia as the only way to prevent the tension of the situation and the extradition of Milan Radoicic, who took responsibility for the terrorist attack in Banjska.

According to him, in the past, the West had threatened Vucic with the return of the visa regime and the departure of German investors in January 2023 before accepting the Brussels agreement.

"I believe that this is the way to act with Belgrade, if the democratic West seriously sanctions Serbia's destructiveness, then I am optimistic that Milan Radiočić will also be handed over to us soon, but we do not have leverage against Serbia, as the West does."

Focusing on the elections that are expected to be held in a month, Kurti said that the Vetëvendosje Movement aims to get 500,000 votes and to govern alone, as he does not see any potential coalition partners among the opposition parties.

He said that the Government under his leadership has scored successes in all areas and therefore deserves the trust of the citizens for another mandate. (A2 Televizion)
