Serbia has continued its propaganda to pretend to be a victim even on the 26th anniversary of the NATO bombing. In Pristina, Belgrade's behavior proves that it is not ready for peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

Official Belgrade, through several activities, has commemorated the 26th anniversary of the NATO bombing in its own way, presenting itself as a victim and distorting the truth that was in 1999.

The Alliance forces bombed the targets of the former Yugoslavia in a campaign that lasted 78 days until the final liberation of Kosovo and the withdrawal of Serbian troops.

Serbia's behavior even after more than two and a half decades aims to hide the truth about which international opinion was very clear at the time.

"The continuous effort to change the truth through deceptive narratives, to hide its responsibility for crimes and genocide in Kosovo, and to incite hostile feelings and hatred towards NATO and the West among the Serbian people, thereby manifesting its policy synchronized with Russia's geopolitical goals," says Arben Fetoshi.

The Kosovo Foreign Ministry stated that Serbia's actions demonstrate Belgrade's continued denial and concealment of the truth about war crimes.

"Even today, the Serbian government and its leaders commemorate the so-called 'NATO crimes against Serbia', while continuing to remain silent about the over 10,000 Kosovo Albanians killed and over a million displaced during the 1998-1999 war. This distortion of history and lack of responsibility highlight the deep problem of Serbia's unreformed policy, which continues to threaten peace and stability in the region," the ministry's response reads.

The truth is often not enough in these times due to aggressive Serbian propaganda that seeks to gain ground by pushing forward the idea of the victim in relation to Kosovo.

"The anniversary is only the symbolism of a sophisticated propaganda strategy of Serbia, especially in relation to Kosovo, which aims to present the positions and actions of the state of Kosovo for the rule of law and sovereignty as a terrorist policy against Serbian citizens or as a pogrom of the Serbian people as they call it," adds Fetoshi.

That Serbia has not changed at all and has the same goals was also revealed in recent days by a joint agreement between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia that said that the alliance was to attack them.

"Serbia's insidious approach is also noticeable in the latest case with the defense agreement agreed between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia, which Aleksandar Vučić considers a threat and a violation of the 1996 agreement, forgetting that it is Serbia that has meanwhile armed itself in recent years, especially with the most modern weapons systems," he said.

Despite the bombings, Serbian forces commit numerous massacres and crimes against Kosovo Albanian civilians - men, women and children. Entire families were exterminated, entire villages were burned, and more than 10,000 innocent Kosovo Albanians were killed. Serbian forces expelled over a million people, forcing them to find refuge in camps in Albania and other countries in the region. (A2 Televizion)
