The European Commission has approved a proposal to ensure that even citizens of Kosovo who possess Serbian passports can move freely in the EU, after the liberalization of visas. It is expected that this proposal will now be approved by the parliament and the European Council.
"On November 16, the Commission adopted a proposal to ensure that all citizens of the Western Balkans are covered by a visa-free regime when traveling to the EU. The proposal to amend the EU visa regulation will allow Kosovo Serbs who are holders of a Serbian passport issued by the Serbian Coordinating Directorate to travel visa-free to the EU. The next step now is for the proposal to be discussed and approved by the Parliament and the Council. It will complement the entry into force of the visa-free regime for Kosovo passport holders on January 1, 2024. Yes, that's what I can say at this stage," declared Christian Wigand, spokesperson for the European Commission. (A2 Televizion)
