Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has been fined 250 euros by the Basic Court of Pristina for failing to appear before the Special Prosecution of Kosovo to testify in connection with the state reserves case, after three invitations from the Prosecution.

Kurti was first summoned on December 10, 2024, but he did not appear as he was on a visit abroad. After that, on February 19, 2025, the Special Prosecution requested the Basic Court to compel the Prime Minister to testify.

In response, the Prime Minister's Office sent a letter to the Basic Court, requesting that the interview be conducted at the Prime Minister's Office premises, stressing that this was common practice and that Kurti was willing to cooperate. However, he refused to appear at the Special Prosecution Office, considering the summons to be politically motivated.

On the last date set by the Prosecution to testify, Kurti did not show up but decided to participate in another activity, inaugurating a kindergarten. Asked about the sentence by the Pristina Court, Kurti ironically said that sometimes he is sentenced, but that journalists should not be upset about this.  (A2 Televizion)
