A police officer was assaulted by a person in Mitrovica, after he did not allow the police to search his apartment.
The Kosovo police announced that the author was put in handcuffs, while during the search in his apartment equipment for the production of cryptocurrencies was found, writes A2 CNN.
"On 18.11.2024, police units from the Regional Police Directorate - North Mitrovica, within the framework of their regular duties, were assisting the officials of the Kosovar Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) for the installation of electricity meters in the Kroi neighborhood Vitaku were threatened by a resident (RR) born in 1986.
After continuous threats and attacks on police officers, the suspect was arrested. A police officer received medical treatment after being hit with a strong tool. On well-founded and reasonable suspicions, the police units raided the person's house where they found a significant amount of means for the production of cryptocurrencies (RIGA) which were seized and sent to the customs terminal.
All the actions undertaken have been presented to the Prosecutor of the case, where after the interview, by decision of the prosecutor, the suspect is sent to detention for 48 hours.
