Thirteen people have received medical assistance after a fire engulfed a residential building in the Emshir neighborhood of Pristina, Kosovo Police announced.
Previously, Police said that the people who received medical treatment mainly had problems caused by smoke.
"The situation is currently under control, the fire has been localized by firefighters," Police spokesperson Flora Ahmeti told Radio Free Europe.
Police authorities said that at around 18:40 they received information that a residential building in the capital of Kosovo had been engulfed in fire.
Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene, evacuating residents and battling the flames.
The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, expressed gratitude to the fire brigade, police and medical teams for "their rapid response and high professionalism that saved the lives of citizens."
"We will continue to stand by citizens and ensure that the necessary assistance and support are guaranteed for all those affected by this disaster," he said.
