The liberalization of visas, the recognition of the Kosovo passport by two non-recognizing countries such as Spain and Armenia, were among the 10 main achievements that Prime Minister Albin Kurti mentioned in the last meeting of the government for 2024.
"First, the liberalization of visas from the EU, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Taiwan, as well as the recognition of passports from two non-recognizing countries, Spain and Armenia. The year 2024 was the year of our passport. Today it ranks higher than ever in the international passport indices this year, it is among the top 10 passports in the world that have marked the greatest improvement in the last decade. This year, the registration and collection of electricity in our 4 municipalities in the north began for the first time after more than 2 decades. During this year, the process of converting illegal driver's licenses to those of Kosovo has also been successfully completed, over 6,300 conversions have been registered, most of them from citizens in four municipalities in the north of the country."
Prime Minister Kurti said that the year 2024 built strong foundations for energy security and the construction of new capacities, as he said the first solar auction in the history of the Republic was closed.
"We have successfully concluded the first solar auction in the history of the Republic with new capacities of 100 MW, which was won by the consortium from our exile in Switzerland 'Orrlati' and this month we opened the second auction for renewable energy, the first with wind energy also with a capacity of 100 MW. This year also entered into force the Compact program of the Millennium Challenge, which included an investment of 236.7 million dollars for energy", he says.
As a success of the work of the executive for 2024, the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti listed the increase in pensions and allowances for children while he stated that for the first time after 13 years the minimum wage has doubled. (A2 Televizion)
