The European agenda unites the assemblies of Kosovo and Albania, what is

The Kosovo-Albania parliamentary session is expected to bring the two governments together. The hall of plenary sessions of the Assembly of Kosovo will host on Friday, December 20, the deputies of Albania who will join the meeting of the two assemblies. Both countries aim at the common European agenda.

But there is not much to expect from this session, however the two states remain connected to each other regardless of the day-to-day politics.

The only place where the executive of Pristina and the executive of Tirana are accountable are their parliaments. Our parliaments, those of Kosovo and Albania, are powerless before the prime ministers, so in this case the meeting is seen as a missed meeting, on the other hand, a kind of skepticism in front of what the Serbs are doing in the "Serbian world" who held the joint meeting of the parliamentarians of the Serbian Republic of Belgrade and the Montenegrin Serbs.

As for those who the public expects both parliaments to be very integrated with each other, to help each other, this thing is still far away.

The meeting of the two assemblies, according to the institutions on both sides of the border, comes as a need to coordinate the agenda for the realization of goals that include Albania's membership in the European Union and Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integrations. Also, the protection and advancement of the rights of Albanians.

In this meeting, the Prime Ministers, Albin Kurti and Edi Rama, are expected to be present.

Both governments have already signed dozens of agreements, but intergovernmental meetings are not being held.

The last one that had failed to be held was in June 2023, after disagreements between Kurti and Rama. (A2 Televizion)
