Diplomat Agim Nesho has expressed that the measure of the Special Prosecutor's Office to summon the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, to testify about a case of one of his subordinates, is probably a bit excessive at this pre-election moment.
Nesho made his comments on the show 'Debate' with journalist Alba Alishani on A2 CNN, where he said that until today Kurti is the most untainted by corruption in Kosovo.
He also said that he has heard about previous governments that inside the cabinet they cooked half an ox for other people, as well as bought land for 2 or 3 dollars.
"In fact, Kurti is the man known as the most untainted compared to the previous administrations. I have heard things from the most surprising, where to the kitchen inside the government institutions where half an ox was cooked for others, where the lands were bought from the main authorities for 2 dollars and 3 dollars. We have not heard this about Kurti.
As for the concrete issue, it is an investigation that is being conducted against a member of the government, where they want to take the Prime Minister as a witness. This is done before the election situation. There are many segments, political life is known, and we Albanians like to point the finger that the political opponent is corrupt.
If the argument of the prime minister's call is simply a statement of facts, a solution could have been found. Under the circumstances, it will probably show that the measure they have taken is much more than a measure for cooperation", said Nesho. (A2 Televizion)
