The Chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration in North Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti, met today with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reports KosovaPress.
Ahmeti and Osmani discussed political developments in our countries, regional challenges, and the vital importance of close cooperation in the service of peace, stability, and Euro-Atlantic integration.
"I expressed my gratitude for the hospitality of President Osmani and highly appreciated her leading role in representing Kosovo with dignity on the international stage. At the same time, I express my support for the electoral process and the rapid establishment of institutions in the service of citizens. In this context, I underlined my deep concern for the serious deterioration of the political and institutional situation in North Macedonia, where Albanians have been targeted by a hybrid political-oligarchic axis with an ethnic supremacist basis and an engineered political representation. Albanians today are facing a dangerous offensive aimed at undoing the pillars of the Ohrid Peace Agreement," Ahmeti wrote after the meeting with Osmani.
He further said that "the Constitutional Court has been transformed into a partisan instrument, which is nullifying the foundations of equality - such as the use of the Albanian language and protective mechanisms such as the balancer and the bailiff."
Ahmeti said that this constitutes a flagrant violation of interethnic equality and endangers the foundations of coexistence that we have built with much effort and sacrifice.
"I also emphasized that the European file has been neglected, deviating from the path of integration and common values. For the first time, dangerous ideas that question the multi-ethnic and unitary character of the state, as envisaged in the Ohrid Agreement, are finding a place in the public political discourse," Ahmeti wrote.
According to him, these developments require vigilance, unity and coordinated action to protect our historical achievements and guarantee the European future of our citizens.
Ahmeti was with former Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, when they visited the presidency office in Pristina. Kosovapress (A2 Televizion)
