Haradinaj: Kurti is holding Kosovo hostage, we are paying the price for a

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has leveled harsh accusations at the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, calling him the cause of the current political and institutional crisis in the country, as he said the country is paying the price of a "fraudster".

According to him, Kurti is holding the country hostage, blocking political processes and not reflecting after the elections, KosovaPress reports.

"This question should be asked only to one man, the fraudster, Albin Kurti. Unfortunately, we are paying the price for trusting a fraudster. And for me it is not a surprise, you know my assessment of him, but this situation must also end sometime. So, the fraudster cannot mock a country without limits. This question should be asked to the fraudster, he has received the majority of votes, he is holding Kosovo hostage, all the rest of us are his hostage, he cannot go without limits. These other meetings, the tales, this one drinking coffee with that one, are just jokes. One man is holding Kosovo hostage, he is continuing to do bad things to it, but let them be reminded once and for all", said Haradinaj.

Thirty-three extensions to date have failed to form the ninth legislature to emerge from the February 9 elections.

Apart from the swearing-in of the elected deputies, the new Assembly has remained unconstituted in the absence of the election of the new Speaker and Deputy Speakers.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and NISMA are not voting for the candidate proposed for mayor by the Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo and Alternativa.

Albulena Haxhiu has failed to pass the exam in six attempts, and in the absence of this, the Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo and Alternativa are requesting a secret ballot commission, for which the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has requested interpretation from the Constitutional Court.

As a reminder, the parliamentary elections were held on February 9th (9). The first meeting for the constitution of the new Assembly was held on April 15th (15). Since that date, constitutive sessions have been held every forty-eight (48) hours without achieving any concrete results.
