Kosovo has officially entered the election campaign from today. The parties there will address the voters with the whole arsenal of either promises, criticisms or even programs so that in the February 9 elections they can get as many of them as possible.
The political forces have also held the opening rallies of the campaign, starting with the Democratic Party of Kosovo. From the "1 Tetori" hall in Prishtina, the mayor Memli Krasniqi opened the campaign by greeting the two leaders of the UÇK and the PDK, Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli, as well as Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi and their friends who are waging the battle of last in The Hague for the justice of the liberation war of our people.
"Today I stand before you to assure you that we offer a concrete plan, a detailed and comprehensive program, realistic and feasible, which will improve the quality of life of our citizens. To make Kosovo stronger! To make Kosovo better! This is the reason why we chose Bedri Hamza to lead us in these elections, because Kosovo needs Bedri's skills, experience and personality to materialize our transformative plan", emphasized Krasniqi.
Next, he asked the citizens of Kosovo and the country's diaspora to vote for Bedri Hamza as prime minister.
PDK's candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, has pledged to increase salaries and pensions, economic development, energy security, health insurance, quality education, as well as cultivating good relations with allies.
"We have many examples of citizens who have put Kosovo first. They have put Kosovo before themselves. During this campaign, I had the honor of meeting many heroes of our everyday life. I have met men who earn their daily bread with cracked hands. Mothers who support their families with inexhaustible strength. I have met talented young people, all over Kosovo, who work with great energy for a better future. It is these people, the silent force of Kosovo, who inspire me. They convince me that we can build a Kosovo, where every sacrifice is rewarded. This vision for a better Kosovo, where every citizen progresses, is not a dream. It's a promise. A promise to every family, every young man and woman, every old man, that I will work without stopping to improve their well-being in our state. Yes, Kosovo can do better", said Hamza.
These are the second elections that Memli Krasniqi has led as the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, after the 2021 local elections, where PDK won the most municipalities and has the largest number of assembly members.
Meanwhile, shortly after PDK, LDK opened the campaign in the capital, with the chairman and at the same time candidate for prime minister, Lumir Abdixhiku, who stopped short of criticizing Albin Kurti's government for "fabulous promises".
Abdixhiku called for "raising hope" among the people and asked citizens to be ready to bring change to Kosovo.
"The great victory has already begun! Therefore, I tell you to get ready! Raise your voice, despise the shortcomings, raise the hope for tomorrow and the bright road ahead! You came. You heard. Now share this news in every corner of Kosovo. In every street and alley, in every neighborhood in every house, in every part of the Republic. I'm not here today to make big promises that never happen. In this projection of the future I want to be very real with you. Not to promise you National Unity and to bring you autonomy. I don't even promise a fabulous development that will end with a 2-meter bridge. I do not promise you order and justice to end up in theft and capture", said the head of the LDK.
Meanwhile, the party in power, Lévizja Vetëvendosje, unlike the two opposition parties, has launched its campaign in Gjakovë. In his speech, Prime Minister Albin Kurti focused on relations with Serbia, stating that his government has " the army, the police, and the dialogue " for the northern neighbor.
" Our coalition tells him (the President of Serbia) that as long as he is a minister of Milosevic, his state apparatus will have no place because we will follow him step by step and corner by corner in the independent and progressive Republic of Kosovo ," Kurti said. (A2 Televizion)
