The Kosovo Assembly convened again on Wednesday in the continuation of the constitutive session, the penultimate one before the expiration of the 30-day deadline set by the Constitutional Court.

This time there was no vote, but an immediate interruption of the session due to a clash between PDK MP Ganimete Musliu and the chairman of the session, Avni Dehari. Musliu wanted to continue her speech on the podium against the will of Dehari, who forbade her from using the microphone, writes A2.

The 51st session was held a day after President Vjosa Osmani sent a request to the Constitutional Court for additional clarifications regarding the situation in the Kosovo Assembly. The opposition parties until yesterday believe that one way out of the crisis is to deprive Vetëvendosje of the right to propose the name of a candidate for Speaker of the Assembly.

Memli Krasniqi of PDK stated: "If we fail to constitute the Assembly within 30 days, the big question is whether we have the right to constitute it on the 31st day."

Lumir Abdixhiku of LDK said: "The Constitutional Court is clear and says that the right to propose belongs to the first and the responsibility for forming the majority belongs to the first. If the first does not want to use this right, then it would be logical and as a conclusion that this right should be taken away from him and passed on to someone who can do it."

While Ramush Haradinaj said: "I think the court cannot now get away with anything after 30 days, what if the party that has the right to nominate fails to get the votes or elect the Speaker of the Assembly, I am convinced that we will find a solution."

The Vetëvendosje Movement parliamentary group also said they welcomed President Osmani's request, while confirming that Nisma had been offered "several positions."

Faton Peci said: "I see it in the spirit and in the positive prism so that we can avoid a situation that is not easily predictable after a certain period of time."

On the other hand, the leader of Nisma, Fatmir Limaj, said that he hopes that the court will take a temporary measure to suspend the 30-day deadline, while warning that they will not enter into coalitions that would be short-lived: "The stance of Nisma is that we do not believe in partial solutions, we want a governing majority that constitutes both the Assembly and creates the government. Nisma will not contribute, will not be a contributor to half-hearted solutions that would then cause elections."

The Kosovo Assembly has been holding its constituent session since April 15, but has failed to conclude it.

The reason is the candidate for speaker Albulena Haxhiu, who did not receive 61 votes, and most recently, the attempt to hold a secret ballot. (A2 Televizion)
