Lista Serbe appeals the decision of the Central Electoral Commission that did not certify it as a party to participate in the February 9 parliamentary elections.
President Zlata Elek, through a press conference, claimed that the decision has no legal basis and accused the authorities of institutional and legal violence against the Serbian people. He also clarified that he did not regret the provocative term used, while saying "Long live Serbia".
"I think that such a thing was done at the behest of Albin Kurti, in order to easily gain some political points. I'll be clear this time. This decision has no basis in law and reflects the fact how much Kurti wants to eliminate the Serbs from these areas. This is institutional and legal violence against the Serbian people and the Serbian List because Kurti does not want to see them in the Parliament of Kosovo, because he wants the Serbs to be heard there, such as the so-called minister Nenad Rashić.
I want to reiterate that such threats do not deter us. We, with all democratic means, will fight for our people. Therefore, we sent a complaint to the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Submissions, and I expect a clear decision that will reject this decision of Kurti, which is anti-democratic and anti-Serbian. Instead of Kosovo, I said the Republic of Serbia. I am proud of those words and I firmly stand behind everything I said", said Zlatan Elek, Chairman of the Serbian List. (A2 Televizion)
